Path to Success

The four most important components of success in the internship are:

  1. Humility and teachability.
  1. Motivation to achieve personal and professional growth.
  1. Attention to detail and a focus on quality.
  1. Time and priority management.

  • Ensure that you check in with your teammates and tasks so that you aren't behind own anything or miss anything important!
  • Tracking your work: Keeping a running log of what you are doing, as you do it, is the easiest way to make sure you have all the information in one place for both your time logs, and your weekly check in. There are a few ways to do it, but one easy way is to have a weekly template with the days of the week that you typically work prefilled, and the weekly check in questions. That way, if you find yourself ready to answer a check in question mid-week, you can write it right then, and just paste the entire file on your check in day - and even if you don't, all your information is there ready to review and think about the questions. If you save a new copy of this template every week, it can help track your progress over time and make it easy to find what you did when. Plus, you can get a head start on planning your week by pasting this week's "What do you plan to do next week?" answer into the top of your next week's file.
